Textile certification
Control Union Certifications can offer you many certification programmes for sustainable textile production. To make sure that these programmes are workable in practice they were developed them in cooperation with experts of the textile industry, consumer organisations and environmental groups.
Two of these programmes are organic textile production:
-Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS): Chemical inputs in the product, social and environmental compliances are considered other than organic material content.
-Organic Content Standard (OCS) : Not limited for organic content claims in textile products but for organic claims of any other non-food products.
Two of them for recycled claimed
- Global Recycled Standard (GRS) : Chemical inputs in the product, social and environmental compliances are considered other than Recycled material content.
-TE Recycled Claim Standard (RCS): for chain of custody of recycled content of a product.
Other than organic and recycled claims any other claim can be done via Content Claim standard (CCS)
All dyes, auxiliaries and chemicals to be used in GOTS production shall be approved in advance. These chemical inputs approval is a separate program other than certification, the approval can be obtained by the chemical suppliers.
GOTS programmes are owned by International Working Group on Global Organic Textile Standard, Germany and CCS, OCS, RCS and GRS programmes are owned by Textile Exchange (TE), USA.
