Korea has introduced new organic certification requirements for processed food under the Food Industry Promotion Act (FIPA). From 1 January 2011 all organic processed food exports to Korea must be accompanied by a certificate issued by a certification company approved by the Korean Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MiFAFF). The FIPA organic certification requires ingredients to be certified according to the Korea organic standard for agricultural produce as defined in the Environmental Friendly Promotion Act (EFAPA).
Control Union Certifications has been accredited by the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MIFAFF) for the inspection and certification according to the Environment-Friendly Promotion Act (EFAPA).
FIPA (processed food), Accredited per 19 June 2009; Registered as Certification Body No. 4
EFAPA (farming), Accredited per 12 March 2010; Registered as Certification Body No. 62
This enables Control Union Certification to certify companies for both Korean Organic standards, world-wide. Applications can be sent to cuckorea@controlunion.com
