Control Union Korea was accredited by the NFQS (National Fishery Products Quality Management Service) for national certification activities related to Organic fishery product, Organic processed food (Certification body number 103).
The government introduced the agricultural and marine product quality certification system in 1993 to lay the foundation for marine product certification. Since then, in 2005, through the revision of ‘the Enforcement Decree of the Fisheries Quality Control Act’, environment-friendly marine products indication can be displayed on quality certification items, and in 2008, as the same law was revised, environment-friendly marine products certification system was implemented in Korea. Since then, in 2013, ‘the Act on the Promotion of Environment-friendly Agriculture and Fisheries and the Management of and Support for Organic Foods’ was enacted, and the certification system for organic and non-antibiotic seafood was implemented.
