ISO 22000 is a food safety management system. The standard helps organizations identify and control food safety hazards, at the same time as working together with other ISO management standards, such as ISO 9001. ISO 22000 is applicable to all types of producers - it can be used by any organization regardless of its size or position in the food chain. CUC offers certification against the ISO 22000 Scheme for the following food chain sub-categories: BIII: Pre-process handling of plant products C0: Animal: Primary conversion CI: Processing of perishable animal products CII: Processing of perishable plant-based products CIII: Processing of perishable animal- and plant products (mixed products) CIV: Processing of ambient stable products G: Transport and storage services I: Production of packaging material K: Production of Bio-chemicals The certification cycle of ISO 22000 is three years (3 years) consisting of an initial audit of two stages (stage 1, and stage 2) followed by scheme evaluation audits. Where successful, an ISO 22000 certificate will be granted with a validity of three years, and your certification status will the at Control Union Certifications website.
